Technically, this isn’t about travel. But it goes straight to my heart, or rather to my pelvis.

I plan to listen if I can, partly because I’m not a big believer in raw food diets or veganism. Neither is my holistic nutritionist, interestingly enough. And to eat that way on travel would be to add a thick layer of complication to any vacation. But…I want to know what science and rationale these ladies can provide, and the descriptions of how they’ve been helped by this diet. I try to keep an open mind, or at least an open ear for tips on diminishing my pain.

Have you listened to them at all? One of the women connected with me on Facebook, and I am not a big alternative person (especially Vegan/raw food!). I was especially frustrated when I sent an email with specific questions and assured the “next guess would be full of lots of good information.” When I checked the website I found out she was a patient with endometriosis. My questions were about Hunner’s ulcers, and whether or not there had been any luck in reducing them and restoring bladder elasticity and what links she could show me supporting that.
I was more than a little skeptical when one of her posts assured me that eating fiber has been proven to cure Hunner’s ulcers. I can find plenty about it being beneficial to ulcers within the digestive tract, but none of the fiber GOES through your urinary tract!
Anyhow, was interested in hearing your feedback. Thanks!
To be honest, no, I haven’t yet listened to this show. I just posted the link because it was posted by a FB friend and it sounded relevant to some of my readers.
I’m not a raw food/vegan person myself. (Unless you count rare steak!) They’ll take away my dairy products when they pry them from my cold, dead fingers.
But based on your post, I’m going to listen to the show and investigate the authors of this theory. I’ll see if I can get a good friend of mine who’s a nutritionist by profession t check them out as well. When I’ve gotten enough information, I will report back here.
I’m not a big fan of the raw food diet, but I am a vegan with IC and I do get by just fine. Some do, some don’t- it depends on your dedication and willingness to try things. I mostly do it for ethical reasons, but it does make one feel physically better, in most cases (but not all). Even if it’s “complicated” while traveling, I find it important enough to continue. I could never go back now.
